Hello and welcome to Dr Lauren Sadow’s academic homepage.

Lauren was awarded her PhD at the Australian National University in July 2019 for a thesis by alternative works. Her exegesis was titled An NSM-based cultural dictionary of Australian English: from theory to practice and the creative component was the cultural dictionary, an ebook titled The Australian Dictionary of Invisible Culture for Teachers.

This thesis drew on several areas of research to build a practical and useable resource for ESL teachers.

The Australian Dictionary of Invisible Culture for Teachers is now available as a website here.

In 2021, Lauren worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Macquarie University in the Macquarie School of Education on the MRFF-funded project Harnessing the Health Communication Power of the Early Childhood Sector.

She was also Senior Research Assistant at Griffith University on the ARC-funded Discovery Project The Building Blocks of Meaning.

In 2023, she began working at Aarhus University in Denmark on the project Danish in the Making.
